Wolf Hall, Hilary Mantel

Written in the present tense, didn't work for me at all. I constantly felt like the author was unclear about who was speaking and what was going on. I hate that. There was something deeply pretentious about the book, and even though I enjoyed it enough to keep reading it I rolled my eyes about a million times at how incredibly seriously it took itself. The (few) moments of levity were nice, though, and I liked Mary Boleyn.
