Oh my god, this book is just PORN. Seriously, I've been on the internet for a while; I thought I was sort of inured to porn. But this book was so embarrassingly porny that I couldn't read it on the subway for fear someone would look over my shoulder and turn me over to the police. On the one hand, I'm glad the heroine is a free spirit in touch with her sexuality who has sex with no fewer than five men in the first half of the book before she sleeps with the hero. I'm happy she experiments with fantasy role-playing (although it made me twitchy to read in public; that shit should be kept on the internet where it belongs). On the other hand, if someone had just been murdered outside my place of business, I would probably not sleep with the first drifter I met, nor, should I return home to find two suspicious characters had broken in, would I immediately sleep with them. That's where the book lost me, honestly; it was SO FOCUSED ON PORN that the main character made weird, illogical decisions to sleep with people that just made no sense to me.
