This is the prequel to A Play of Isaac, featuring the same players but set in a different series, this one about a nun who solves mysteries. (It's not as silly as it sounds.) Again, the writing and the story telling are utterly engaging and beautiful, and since it only took me 4 or 5 hours to read the whole thing, I'm probably going to go out and buy the whole set of both series.
The plot of this one is better set up than the first one I read, and a lot more things happen. There are more suspects, as well, although I guessed the murderer about halfway through the book. (It helped that the prime suspect was the narrator of A Play of Isaac, so I was relatively sure it wasn't him.) Again, the murder was a little bit simple, but I'm not reading to be stunned by the ending, I'm reading to enjoy the incredibly rich characters and world of the story.
